The Explanatarium is an experimental website dedicated to providing a better understanding of what explanations are and, particularly, what makes for good explanations. The intent is not only to provide background knowledge of psychological research and philosophical theories, but also to foster interchange of good and bad examples and, eventually, to experiment with technology for automatically critiquing explanations to distill essential and confusing elements.

When you are done visiting the site, I would appreciate any feedback that you might have. I am particularly interested in the following:

• Any bugs you came across in how the website behaves

• Any enhancements you would like to see including pointers to additional content
